Off to Bosnia!

Our last day in Dubrovnik was jam-packed with sightseeing--medieval churches, Dubrovnik archives, summer festival kickoff (complete with fireworks over the adriatic and fantastic people-watching), and the second oldest synagogue in Europe. The synagogue was especially enjoyable, not only because I learned a lot about Jewish tradition, but also because Will's explanations to me stirred interest among the other tourists. One Canadian couple, in particular, enlisted him as their personal Jewish historian and proceeded to follow us around, peppering him with questions all along the way. Being the "professional explainer" that he is, he was right in his element. :)

Just before sunset, we decided to throw down the $10 

entrance fees to the Dubrovnik City Walls. We were skeptical about the value of this walk around the top of the Old City wall, but had read and heard that it was an absolute "must do." WOW. We were soooooooo glad that we trusted the advice of others on that one. We were up there for hours, just absorbing one breathtaking view after another, all the way around the Old City. Stunning.
